Choosing Your Gems & Crystals

For most purposes, Gems or crystals are the same.  The effects of Crystal or Gemstone can be experienced in a variety of ways. 

The most effective way to add the power of crystals or correct a balance in the Chakras is thru adding natural crystals and gemstones to your everyday wardrobe so they are close to you for several hours at a time and touching your skin. (the pulse points: ears, wrists, ankles, and neckline) and thus effecting your aura and balancing the Chakras.  This is much more effective than carrying stones in your purse or pocket, or placing them in your environment.  For direct healing, the jewelry can be placed on the Chakra itself.

You can carry the object in your pocket or  create a small totem bag you can wear over your heart, or place in your pocket.  (We sell small discrete black velvet pouches suitable for a man or a woman on our Accessories page.)

If you spend a lot of time in your car, hang our "Car Gems" from your rear view mirror.

Use our Gemstone Bookmarks in your Big Book, meditation or reading books.  Books you handle daily.  That way the Bookmark is sitting next  to you as your read, and you are handling the stones, and they understand what you are trying to do. 

You can choose one special stone each day and wear as a pendant on a chain. ( We sell chains on our Accessories page)

You can place them in your bath water while you soak.

You can put them under your pillow while you sleep. 

You can place it directly on your body, at the Chakra point which that stone affects and you think may be blocked. 

We can also combine gems with specific properties into "Theme"  necklaces, bracelets, and anklets such as

• Prosperity and Success

• Career 

I often select a crystal for its specific healing quality, but occasionally, a gem selects me.

For instance, you would think that with all these crystal and gemstone surrounding me, and being an Oil Painter and creator of Jewelry, that I would have for my personal stone something vibrant such as Ruby, or Mystical such as Amethyst, or striking such as Emerald.  But the one stone I feel above all else, is the energizing, vibrational, lifting qualities of clear Quartz crystals. I ALWAYS have one near me. 

I keep that and several others that promote relaxation, meditation, and spiritual insight on my night stand.  I have several energizing crystal by my computer, which gets me very frustrated and yet I spend long hours there.  I have creativity gems on my jewelry bench.  I have a little bowl of Success and Prosperity gems in my entrance way, where I also keep candles and incense. I also have a Fluorite healing wand that I sleep with under my pillow, along with a rather large Amethyst Crystal. 

I have never been particularity fond of Pearls. 

I would have picked any stone but pearls for a favorite jewelry item.  But when I started to make jewelry, they have taken on a whole new meaning.

I feel in love with the depth of luster and silken texture of their surface, the  translucent inner light.  I am captivated that such a humble creature came take what the world has thrown at it, and transformed it into such a wonder of light and beauty. 

I think Pearls are particularly a good choice for women in recovery. 

So, sometimes, the crystal and gems that you need, the vibrations, the colors, the healing qualities, will lead you to choose a stone you have never considered before.  I suggest you go with it.  Allow your first impressions to lead you and follow your instincts.

I personally believe that the vibrations that crystals give off are translated in our bodies in ways that can be felt, but not verbalized.  I think you have to try it to see if it works for you. 

You have to be open to the experience. 

I guarantee if you come into any situation telling yourself that it wont work, that it may work for hundreds of other people, but it will never work for you, because you wont allow it to. We are very powerful creatures, and we are creatures of choice.  You will get what you expect to find.

If you are open to the possibilities, you will be very pleasantly surprised.  You don't need to be a scholar, or study yoga, or know the Chakra centers  in order to have noticeable, meaningful experiences with crystals.  You just have to have an open mind, and a willing nature.
